The Plastic Age by Percy Marks
Narrated by Scott Cluthe
First published in 1924, The Plastic Age was considered shocking enough to be banned in Boston. It describes the experiences of a student at a fictional men's college. Among these are many examples of contemporary "frat" behaviour, including drinking, smoking, wild partying, and sexual suggestiveness.
At the time of publication, Percy Marks was a staff member at Brown University, but lost his job because the university administration considered the book to be a thinly disguised portrait of life at the college.
