Hurt by love, Empress, "Zorah Franklin", lives life on the conservative and celibate side. She is a single mother of one, an educator, and a woman who loves her community.

Not quite ready to love, pro-black activist Redd, “Xyshaun Smith”, an entrepreneur and educator, falls in love with Empress’s essence. She is everything he wants in a woman, and he is ready to step up to the plate to make her trust in Black love again.

All Empress asks is his intentions are pure, and that dose of black love Redd wants to feed her doesn’t involve the struggle of the infamous ride or die chick willing to put up with womanizing and being a man’s accomplice to prove she loves her man.

Of course, no relationship is perfect. Empress and Redd’s love is tested. Will it withstand the hurdles this couple must face to live happily ever after?
