This entertaining novel is right at home alongside Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist and Leon Garfield’s Smith. In Victorian London, 12-year-old orphan Mog Winter prints wanted posters about all the dangerous villains. When a brute named Cockburn escapes prison, the ink on the posters is barely dry before Mog gets caught up in the criminal underworld. Soon thieves, crooked schemers - even murderers - are hunting Mog, but he doesn’t know why.

I have been sad for several years that we lost the amazing talents of Katherine Kellgran. What a gift she had! Every book she narrated comes to life with her amazing range of accents and her excitement as she read the story. I find myself on the edge of my seat as the author intended. Although this is a book intended for young readers, this grandmother really enjoyed it!

Fabulous narration

I work in the printing industry and Katherine Kellgren is one of my all time favorite narrators, so I had to get this book. In all it probably took me 3 times as long to listen to because of all of the times I had to skip back from glazing over. At 2 hours in I started over because I couldn’t follow who the villains were. By the end it was mildly enjoyable but overall a slog to get through.

Not what I was hoping for…

I would not read it again but if you like character details it's for you

Mog was actually following the plot of the action that the agents where following through and it was done.
