The professor, the hair stylist, and a wedding date....

Tommy

Help! My sister is getting married, and according to her, I need a date. And a makeover. I’m a busy man, though. I don’t have time to meet eligible bachelors, and the tape holding my glasses together works just fine. Until my hair stylist steps on them.

Yes, Noah, my dazzling dreamboat of a hair guru created a mini disaster, but I don’t mind at all. He’s a sweet, funny, kind jock who—

Screech! No jocks. I have nothing in common with sporty people.

Except…Noah is different.

Noah

I don’t date. However, I’m not opposed to offering fashion advice to a sexy professor in need. A haircut, a quick shopping expedition....

Boom! Mission accomplished.

Not so fast. I’ve misjudged the situation and my attraction to the geek with the tragic sense of style. Sure, Thomas is too smart for me by a long shot, but there’s something about him that makes it easy to forget my past. It might be his quietly commanding nature or his movie-star good looks. Or maybe it’s just him.

All I know is that I’m very tempted to be the professor’s date.

The Professor’s Date is an MM geek/jock romance featuring a nerdy professor, a soccer-playing hair stylist, and a quest for the perfect date!

this book was so good, but the plot is completely abandoned there for a little while. they decided to fall in love and ignore the original plan. i think that is such a beautiful component of falling in love. when you fall in love it's a little like skydiving and all you can hear is the wind in your ears, nothing else matters but the fall in the moment, even while going through regular life. well captured in this book. can't help but love them both, in all of their complexity and flaws.

loved it

I read the ebook of The Professor’s Date only a few weeks ago but the audiobook, performed by Alexander Cendese, was almost like experiencing the story for the first time. He has done such a good job on this series. The different voices he uses for each character are really perfect. I can’t say enough good things about this audiobook.

Below is an excerpt from my review of the ebook:

I love how this book’s geek/jock trope was different from others. Noah is a hairdresser and he’s a flashy dresser. You’d never guess by looking at him that he’s also a soccer player. There is so much more to Noah than what you see on the surface. He suffered a traumatic event several years ago and it’s still impacting his personal relationships today.

Tommy is pretty much what you might expect of an absent-minded professor… he doesn’t care about looks or clothes and he’s been wearing his broken glasses with tape holding the pieces together because he can’t be bothered to take the time to get them replaced. That’s all well and good until his sister’s upcoming wedding to a man with a very wealthy family. She insists that he clean up his act, dress appropriately, get his glasses fixed and bring a date to the wedding.

I really loved both Tommy and Noah but Noah’s story really got to me. We didn’t find out everything until a ways into the book but once we did it broke my heart a little. Fortunately, Tommy was there to stand with Noah even when Noah didn’t want him to.

These two were just so sweet together and I loved every bit of their story, even the bits that made me a little sad; they just made the HEA that much more special. I’m eagerly awaiting the next one in the series.

A copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author or narrator.

This series just keeps getting better!

One of my favorite books in this series. Each book offers different characters, though usually a nerd and a jock pairing. In this book, the jock isn't extremely sporty. Soccer is Noah's sport, but he also does hair and enjoys wearing makeup. He has great fashion sense and he is perfect for Tommy who tapes his glasses together and has no fashion sense. For however nerdy Tommy is, he is comfortable in his own skin. He doesn't feel self-conscious with his appearance at all, and when it comes to the bedroom, hot damn! He is one of the most sexually confident men this series has had and it was sexy! Noah is an awesome character, too. He shows how you don't have to be one thing or another and that people can be multi-faceted.

one of my favorites in the series.

Another exciting adventure from Lane Hayes with yet another professor and an amazing storyline with a remarkable performance by Alexander Cendese.

Noah’s backstory was definitely touching and eye opening of the possibility of every homosexual person. But, he grew from his past and became stronger because.

Thomas for the win with tens shy, nerdy persona! His character was brilliant and the epitome of a true science nerd. And when he finally snapped!! So proud of him!

Their chemistry was absolutely beautiful with a connection from the start. Noah and Thomas were just what the other never realized they needed, and fit perfectly together. Hope to read/listen to more about these two!

Nerds for the win!
