From New York Times bestselling author Tosca Lee, this gripping conspiracy thriller inspired by the legend of Elizabeth Báthory follows a woman who discovers she is descended from a notorious serial killer—and becomes the target of a deadly secret war spanning centuries.

Emily Jacobs has no memory of her past—but she knows one thing: someone is trying to kill her. As she races across Europe, she uncovers a shocking truth—she is part of a hidden lineage descended from Elizabeth Báthory, the infamous “Blood Countess.”

Now caught between rival secret societies—one sworn to protect her, another determined to eliminate her—Emily must unravel a four-hundred-year-old conspiracy rooted in power, violence, and survival.

As the past collides with the present, Emily is forced to confront not only the truth about her bloodline, but who she is meant to become.

Packed with adrenaline, intrigue, and unexpected twists, this suspenseful novel delivers a thrilling mix of history, identity, and danger.

Therese Plummer captures the essence of the main character while also delivering a variety of foreign dialects. Luka's voice was my least favorite - though ;-(
