Basic human behavior, thinking, and intellect shape how individuals view, interpret, and connect with the world around them. Cognitive competence includes remembering things, paying attention, solving problems, and making choices. This helps individuals figure out what they need to do, grasp difficult concepts, and deal with changes. But intelligence is the ability to use your brain to think things through, find answers, and learn from what you do. These two beliefs have an impact on how individuals develop and evolve, as well as how society progresses.

Cognitive science looks at how individuals decide what to learn and how they make meaning of their experiences. People use their minds to perceive and think about what they've done, determine what to do, and come up with new ideas. People's cognitive talents, whether they know it or not, determine how they deal with difficulties and opportunities. This process relies on intelligence, as it influences the speed and efficacy with which individuals assimilate information, engage in critical thinking, and render judgments.
