Sure, he only looks to be around thirty, but this is his second lifetime, and he's getting a little tired of always having to kick alien ass. Besides that, he's got piles of energy credits, so he doesn't have to keep risking his life for the money. But then again, he is The Human for Hire, the best of the best, and everyone knows it.

And that's why he's been hired to head a security detail going out to investigate an isolated research facility that's gone dark. It's owned by a major corporation, so money is no object. So, once again, it's Adam's turn in the barrel . . .

But as you've already guessed, things aren't always as they seem, and before you know it, Adam is running for his life, being pursued by . . . something. Something deadly. Something evil.
