A coming interdimensional war. A race against time. A thrill ride like no other.

Multimillion-copy bestselling authors Douglas E. Richards and Joshua T. Calvert team up for the first time to deliver an explosive, high-stakes science-fiction thriller, one that will leave you breathless.

Deep in Antarctica, two researchers find an enigmatic black sphere suspended in the heart of a huge crater. Neither man is ever seen again.

Decades later, reality fractures. A Manhattan skyscraper vanishes into thin air. An airplane crashes in the Sahara Desert—its existence defying logic. Across the globe, breathtaking technology and mysterious artifacts appear, all leading to one chilling truth: a parallel Earth is breaching the boundary between realities. And with every artifact that crosses over, the fabric of existence tears further apart.

Enter Dr. James Barron, a man haunted by his past who is thrust into a fight he didn't choose. As secret organizations and shadowy forces battle to control the growing breach, Barron becomes humanity's reluctant champion. Can he stop an invasion from a world bent on conquest? Or will the widening rift doom both Earths to annihilation?

The Rift is the electrifying first entry in a trilogy of epic science-fiction thrillers.

I love everything this author has published. this is just another of what, since I started reading him, has become a long list of great books. each a little different, each fresh.

always a new and fresh twist with the author

This is neither the best nor the worst book I've listened to. The delivery is slow and details of fighting is too specific (type of punch, etc). Character Dev. is slow and shallow as well. Narration is good....I hope the other books of the series are better.

Great potential, slow delivery

Story is good but the person reading it is just awful. Practically a monotone with no emotion. I'm listening but he is putting me to sleep. I enjoy the author but please get a different reader

Good story ruined by a boring reader

The plot does hook you somewhat, but it also has issues. It’s somewhat cliché - especially the villain. The villain is more universal than unique.

It’s also somewhat melodramatic. There’s a potential threat not just to the entire nation, or worse, planet Earth, but possibly the entire Universe? Come on!

As far as writing style goes, it reminds me of a Clive Cussler book, except the sakes are even higher. The characters are a bit flat, probably because the action is the focus.

At times the narrator is monotone. But at other times, he has vocal inflection. He wasn’t the worst narrator I’ve heard, nor the best.

Not bad. Not great.

Never knew what was going to happen next. A little slow, at times, but the writers had a lot to set up. LOVED the BOOK!!!

Did not guess what’s next?
