A stunning journey

Wonderful book, except

...for the few thousand times the reader is reminded that the main character "was a barrister". Argh that is really annoying. Otherwise a beautiful saga filled with interesting characters set in a beautiful and historic city. Definitely makes anyone want to visit Rome!
