The Wheatons are infamous among the east coast elite for their lack of impulse control, except for their daughter Clara. She’s the consummate socialite: over-achieving, well-mannered, predictable. But every Wheaton has their weakness. When Clara’s childhood crush invites her to move cross-country, the offer is too tempting to resist. Unfortunately, it’s also too good to be true.

After a bait-and-switch, Clara finds herself sharing a lease with a charming stranger. Josh might be a bit too perceptive—not to mention handsome—for comfort, but there’s a good chance he and Clara could have survived sharing a summer sublet if she hadn’t looked him up on the Internet...

Once she learns how Josh has made a name for himself, Clara realizes living with him might make her the Wheaton’s most scandalous story yet. His professional prowess inspires her to take tackling the stigma against female desire into her own hands. They may not agree on much, but Josh and Clara both believe women deserve better sex. What they decide to do about it will change both of their lives, and if they’re lucky, they’ll help everyone else get lucky too.

loved this story but the male voice was horrendous, had to buy the book on kindle to get through it!

great story, terrible male voiceover

The male narrator is just so bad. The awkwardness of having the female voice narrate the male parts and Vice versa is just so so so bad.

Just ok

A very sweet, sexy, unconventional love story. Narration mostly good, but the male narrator’s nasal, regional accent is distracting. I have noted the same thing on several other of his audiobook recordings. Maybe he could use or develop a more generic accent for these books, with the help of a voice coach?

A Sweet and Spicy Read

Great narration, but the story is unlikely. Very graphic, be ready to blush! Needed a little more of a lead up to the ending.

very explicit

This book had no right being this good. I absolutely devoured it today. I started the audiobook when I woke up and at no point was I able to put it down without thinking about when I would be able to pick it right back up.

This story is everything sexy and fun that you would hope for in a romance novel with its premise. The characters are dynamic and their emotions are palpable on the page. It never slows down. That’s all well and good and makes it a fantastic book on its own, but the author takes it one step further in opening up incredibly important discussions.

The way this book sheds light on the sex-work industry as well as women’s sexual liberation — both separately important with a lot of crossover— is phenomenal. We’ve slowly made small steps in removing the taboos, but we’ve got such a long way to go. I really enjoyed and appreciated the perspectives brought forth in Clara and Josh’s story. It highlights the stigmas and how we can work towards removing them all together.

I know I’ll be gushing about this for many days to come. I’m excited to jump into the second book for Naomi’s story.
