Succinct with a lot of good information.

The book is short and is very dense. A lot of interesting information presented in a neutral manner.

Demonstrated a speedy progression from monarchy to a republic to a one party oligarchy that is declared as communism.

A bit herky-jerky in timeline…

Better pay attention when you listen… the writer jumps back and forth in time by ten and twenty years. Facts are good, but it isn’t really captivating.

Super boring but highly informative. Nice and short. Lots of history crammed into a couple hours. Will probably give it another listen.
Very similar to the political climate today in America.

Data without understanding

I was very disappointed in this book. It was basically a recitation of data and dates that did not provide any historical or cultural awareness. The relentless listing of events without background was useless and provided only one instance of a fact that I was unaware of and that was important. I really wanted more depth and perspective.
