A haunted lighthouse. A Justice accused of murder. And a single question—What is The Scour?

In the dying port town of Gdansburg, Sir Konrad Vonvalt finds the unthinkable: a fellow Justice imprisoned for the murder of a young boy. Despite the furious insistence of the townsfolk, the only evidence is a question written on a piece of paper by a dead man: What is The Scour?

The answer begins in the town's haunted lighthouse and ends in its past—where Vonvalt may dig up more than he bargained for.

It’s nice to come back to Bressinger and Vonvolt! I love their energy and the adventures they get up too! I want more!

Fun and exciting

I enjoyed this story dating back to Vonvault’s early years as a justice. The story was in the same vein, of administering justice in a small town, as the tale we saw unfold at the beginning of Justice of Kings. There was the added fun of the horror element, sprinkled with necromancy, and Vonvault’s personal and professional partnership with Justice Resy August.
It was a short read but entertaining. I listened simultaneously. It was narrated so spectacularly by Philip Battley that I was reading it at 2.0 without any loss of fidelity. Wish he would narrate more books I like.
