The good news: I miraculously survived a would-be fatal fall.

The bad news: A demon helped me do it.

The worst news: Prince Alexander saw everything.

Reverie is supposed to be paradise, but the power holding the floating city aloft isn't holy; it's demonic. Now, demons are attacking my classmates, and I think they're targeting me.

If we can't find the source behind the attacks, the entire kingdom could be in danger of falling from the sky. And Alexander knows I'm a fraud.

I came to Reverie to steal something. Now, I need Alexander to steal something, too. Because, he has one thing I never will: the trust of the king.

But can I convince him to exploit his father's trust to save his people? Or, will Alexander tell the world who I really am?

The Secret of Magic is a young adult fantasy adventure full of monsters, murder, and romantic intrigue. Fans who enjoyed Rachel Carter’s Black Mage series and Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy will love this sprawling magic academy!

I really enjoyed this book. the character development from the previous one to now is very exciting.
I felt the "bad guy" was a lot more obvious than the author seemed to think and was not surprised in the least, but it was still a really nice twist. it was only obvious because it was perfect.
I'm kind of disappointed that it's taken this long to get Winter's ground family safe and even now there's still only promises and no action in that area.
I honestly liked this book better than the first though so that is refreshing.
as for the narrator, my opinion hasn't changed. in her attempt to emulate a teen girl's tone, she managed to make winter sound like a spoiled brat which is the complete opposite of her character. I also still feel that it's definitely the way Winter's dialog is being spoken and not what she's saying that makes her seem spoiled or bratty.

loved it

This story picks up right where the first left off and was better than the first. There were some twists I didn’t see coming!

Great read!

I am glad I got all three books right away.. because it was left at a cliff hanger on the first book.. the second book did not disappoint.. I absolutely love the twists and turns this series takes.
