“Patrick blends romance, mystery, and quirkiness to highly entertaining effect.” —Booklist

“A wonderfully hope-filled story.” —Sarah Haywood, New York Times bestselling author of The Cactus

A single father gets an unexpected second chance at love.

It’s summer in the city and passions are soaring along with the temperature—for everyone but Mitchell Fisher, who hates all things romance. He relishes his job cutting off the padlocks that couples fasten to the famous “love story” bridge. Only his young daughter, Poppy, knows that behind his prickly veneer, Mitchell still grieves the loss of her mother.

Then one hot day, everything changes when Mitchell courageously rescues a woman who falls from the bridge into the river. He’s surprised to feel an unexpected connection to her, but she disappears before he can ask her name. Desperate to find out her identity, Mitchell is shocked to learn she’s been missing for almost a year. He teams up with her spirited sister, Liza, on a quest to find her again. However, she’s left only one clue behind—a message on the padlock she hung on the bridge.

Brimming with Phaedra Patrick’s signature charm and a sparkling cast of characters, The Secrets of Love Story Bridge follows one man’s journey to unlock his heart and discover new beginnings in the unlikeliest places.

I love Phaedra Patrick’s sweet storytelling! She’s so good at letting the reader into the character’s thought life. This was a gentle story that kept my interest until the very end. I can’t wait to enjoy the next book! Will there be a sequel to this one? 🤞🏼

Sweet Story

If I didn't want to know what happened I would have stopped listening shortly after the rescue. Just not much suspense or intrigue to keep my attention well. I enjoyed the narration.

Interesting, but just enough.

Liked this audiobook very much....narration was good, plot entertaining. The story held my attention. I have to say that I found The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by the same author a better story but I did enjoy this tale a great deal.

Enjoyable, absorbing story

I've read all of Ms. Patrick's books, and each one is a reliable palette cleanser, while still being thoughtful. She is following her tried and true formula, in this novel. A story of someone being stuck and unhappy, who has their perception upended by romantic happenstance. Colorful characters and gentle adventures abound!

I would like to see a different type of protagonist in her future works. But I'm not bored, yet!

Phaedra Patrick does it, again!

I almost stopped near the beginning because I thought it was going to be a lot of depressing 'I lost my wife' talk following a grumpy older man like my name is Ove came to mind and I really despised that book.
But I stuck it out, and though I skipped ahead in some places that really dragged on, it was an overall uplifting book. it does carry varying emotions and out of all the characters in the story I like to Poppy the most. it's a story about growth and moving on and seeing different perspectives. overall a solid 3.5/4 stars.

a man called ove comes to mind ..
