She decides to travel to Walden Pond herself to hunker down and work on her writing, but it quickly becomes clear that all is not as it seems in Thoreau's woodland retreat. The further Aine delves into Bonnie's diary, the more she finds herself wondering about her family's sinister legacy - and even her own sanity. (Is there really a young girl lurking in the woods?)

As tragedy strikes a nearby town and suspicion falls on Aine, she scrambles to find the truth behind Thoreau's paradise.

Boring Bodice-Ripper; Dull Ghost Story

That was several hours of my life I won't get back. I'd hoped for a great ghost story from the description and reviews. Instead it was a dull story with more focus on bodice-ripping than plot or character development. I won't waste my time or my money on the sequel. I don't care what happens to the characters in the next installment.

I feel cheated!

If I had known that this book ended without any kind of resolution, I never would have gotten it in the first place! The author spent so much time going over the same material again and again, and then doesn't even bother to end the book. I feel duped. If this is the first in a series - then it should say so!
