Avery could no longer stand to be humiliated by others for her belief in The Storytellers and the loss of her only child. Her loss, like others, was too great to bear and broke her heart. The memory hurt and continued to fill her with pain. With each shallow breath, her lips quivered as her mind raced. She leaned forward, placing her head down in her arms on the table.
