The Seven Storey Mountain is the extraordinary spiritual testament of Thomas Merton (1915-1968), a man who experienced life to its fullest in the world before entering a Trappist monastery. By the end of his life, he had become one of the 20th century's best-known and beloved Christian voices. This autobiography deals...not with what happens to a man, but what happens inside his soul.

I loved the confessional style, beautiful imagery of Merton’s language and his human story of conversion. I only wish it was a complete reading of the work.

This is a very good book to listen to. The progression of his own spritual and physical life is capturing. I will listen to this again and recommend to others as well.

Good Listening

I started with " New Seeds of Contemplation" and was overwhelmed, and wanted to know how such depth of spiritual understanding could have grown in a man. This audio book has helped but apart from this, this story is a moving testimony of God's grace and the transition from a man of little faith to one becoming full of it's real experience.

To know the man helps us know his work
