The Seventh Gate is the thrilling conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Death Gate Cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. In this tale of treachery, power, and heroism, Alfred, Haplo, and Marit embark on a journey of death and discovery as they seek to enter the dreaded Seventh Gate. Encountering enemies both old and new, they unleash a magic no power can control, damning themselves to an apocalypse of unimagined proportion in a final struggle between good and evil.

More fun and imaginative than Lord of the Rings. This has been living in my head rent free for decades.

I’ve never heard any other reader who could play so many characters so well. I love this book series and I love these authors, and they held up well from my first read in the 1990s to my relisten in the 2020s. What makes them outstanding is the reader of this series. he is incredible. Honestly, I could listen to him read the phone book.

Best narrator of all time

The ending is the best of the series and all the previous stories have come together nicely with why everything happened and how to correct past mistakes. If you’re this far you know you like the series, but defiantly listen to these in order. Narrator is good but he does draw out the story a bit slowly, I ended up using 1.3x for speed. Truthfully, I enjoyed this series by reading them vs. listening to them as I did find my mind sometimes wondering with a lot during the narrating.

And then they became one.
