Amazing story

This is my go to author and narrator when I need an emotional boost. I like a bit of mystery and intrigue but really want the HEA. I was a bit surprised thinking this one might take a darker turn but was surprised when we found out what really happened in captivity. It also brought to light that what is very traumatic and devastating to us may be perceived differently by others. She didn't less his feelings or emotions from the trauma but had his support system step up and be understanding. Great job Stella. Can't wait for the next book.

An excellent story told well

Stella Riley knocked it out of the park with this one. I love the narrator who makes every scene come alive. I found the story to be believable, interesting and compelling. The sex was off screen within marriage. There were no boring parts I wanted to skim. I recommend to anyone who enjoys Regency Romance. Brava to the author!

Poignant Perfection

So romantic. The love between the hero and heroine is electric, yet whether a happy ending is their destiny is truly in doubt. Kit, the hero, had his freedom and identity stolen from him, and has suffered horrific damage resulting in what we'd call post traumatic stress disorder. He is driven to seek revenge/justice, His closest kinsman is his mortal enemy. Stella Riley always gives us wonderful characters, She outdoes herself this time. Kit fortunately has a cohort of dashing and totally loyal friends who, after they free him, help him through the social and legal twists and turns of the plot. His love, Sophie Rose, is ablaze with courage, intelligence, and love for Kit. I could not stop listening until the book ended. Alex Wyndham narrates with passion. A great performance.

These are my favorite books and this one is awesome. Stella Riley and Alex Wyndham are brilliant. This is a great book. More please!!!!

A great listen!!!!!

Alex Wyndham is perfection. The story is great!!!! I really enjoyed how Stella Riley does not waste time "explaining" all the things other period/regency authors feel they must. The Shadow Earl just moves forward with the story and you pick it up along the way. Very good story and plot and development. I looked around to see if this was one of a series, and I don't think it is. I hope she writes about others in the story.
