I really enjoyed this book. It starts off almost like Hunger Games with an intense competition that will keep you wanting to hear what’s next, but then it takes some really surprising turns. The story is based in a kingdom trying to fend off rivals and figure out how to handle refugees. It is set around the 16th Century, and many of the strong female characters face particularly tough challenges.

The reader has a British accent and is very engaging to listen to.
