Don’t miss the next book in the WW2 Secret Agent Series!

One woman must sacrifice everything to uncover the truth in this enthralling historical novel, inspired by the true World War Two campaign Radio Aspidistra…

England, 1942: Having fled Germany after her father was captured by the Nazis, Lilli Bergen is desperate to do something pro-active for the Allies. So when she’s approached by the Political Warfare Executive, Lilli jumps at the chance. She’s recruited as a singer for a radio station broadcasting propaganda to German soldiers – a shadow network.

But Lilli’s world is flipped upside down when her ex-boyfriend, Bren Murphy, appears at her workplace; the very man she thinks betrayed her father to the Nazis. Lilli always thought Bren was a Nazi sympathiser – so what is he doing in England supposedly working against the Germans?

Lilli knows Bren is up to something, and must put aside a blossoming new relationship in order to discover the truth. Can Lilli expose him, before it’s too late?

Set in the fascinating world of wartime radio, don’t miss Book 2 in the WW2 Secret Agent Series, a heart-stopping novel of betrayal, treachery, and courage against the odds.

Enjoyed this story except for the interminable drawing out of Lily’s dithering on every decision. I didn’t buy that she’d have taken up again with Brendan. Lots of her decisions felt forced by the plot.

Great research, good dialogue

It is fascinating when an author, with a penchant for historical facts, can translate them into an edge-of-seat read. Ms. Swift has led me to research more on the shadow network. The narration was clear and concise. I would give this ten stars if possible.

Great story based on little known facts…

It's an interesting theme. However, the storyline stretches belief! The notion that the protagonist would reunite with someone who figured into the tragedy of her family, be bullied into an engagement, allows herself to make public her engagement out of embarrassment and who consistently gives him the benefit of doubt is simply not plausible given her previous trauma.

Difficult to suspend disbelief

Both of the books in this series are almost but not quite. Far too difficult to reconcile the ostensibly evolving women in the modernizing world frame with the helplessness they mess about in getting there. This book is painful. So much potential not quite fully realized.

Disappointing
