Jerry Pardoe and Jamila Patel hunt down a ritualistic cult inspired by Neolithic cannibals in the new chilling horror from Graham Masterton.

Det. Sgt. Jamila Patel and Det. Con. Jerry Pardoe have reluctantly acquired a reputation in the Metropolitan Police for their ability to tackle bizarre and apparently supernatural crimes. Now they have been called back together after three bodies are found in a London basement...bodies which have been taken apart, roasted and eaten.

The markings on the wall suggest this might have been done by some kind of religious cult - and as more people are kidnapped and cannibalised, Patel and Pardoe realise they are dealing with a group of devil-worshippers invoking an ancient god who has not been worshipped since the Neolithic age....

Really like the series but am I mistaken or did a character that died in book one reappear in this book 3

Good story

So far, each of the books in this series has had a different narrator. Each story has been a great mix of police procedural and creepy horror concepts, and I am looking forward to listening to the remainder of the books.
I do hope that the narrator of The Shadow People doesn't narrate any of the other books. I would still buy the book and listen to it, but definitely for the story and despite the narration. Her accent is nice, but her cadence is odd and disjointed, as if she is not fully comfortable reading English. Again, it is not a deal-breaker, but definitely not up to the standard of previous narrations.

Excellent story and characters; not my favorite narration.

Not really scary, but a different and interesting listen. Yes, there is gore, but not as bad as some authors I,ve read (Kilborn/Konrad).
There were so many police officers, I could not keep track of who was who. The narrator did not do male - or different voices- well at all, so it was definitely hard to tell who was talking. It was almost as tho she was just reading the story.
I believe this was a free audible plus book, so it’s worth a listen for free.

Decent story…

Didn't like the book. couldn't get into the narrator story telling, very bland, same tone thought out the reading of the book, no fluctuations between characters.
