The follow-up to the debut thriller in the Assassin series.

Dan Stone, a contract assassin for the CIA, a man alone with few friends, is sent out on what may be a suicide mission. Dan is dropped into the Chihuahuan desert to assassinate the head of the Sinaloa cartel. His mission suddenly becomes more complex and dangerous.

When his extraction is botched, he flees into the desert, where he gets lost and death by dehydration threatens. There, he meets a shaman who shows him the spiritual dimension to life and how Dan is part of a larger story going on - a battle between good and evil, light and darkness. The shaman takes Dan on a spirit journey, and Dan’s world suddenly gets more complicated than he ever imagined. The Indian mystic sends Dan on an additional mission that challenges his sanity and may cost him his life.

Along the way, he tries to save the beautiful wife and children of the drug lord he had assassinated. Dan has to complete the tasks given him by the shaman without help from his CIA handlers and then try to make it out of the country on his own.

If you’re a fan of Jack Reacher or Mitch Rapp, you’ll enjoy Dan Stone’s adventures in this action-packed thriller.

Sometimes i get interested in a book and notice it’s a sequel, sometimes i’m okay with it and just read it out of sequence i know it’s blasphemy but sometimes heck it, it’s your time. I definitely enjoyed this book and while i could have enjoyed it more if i read the first one, reading the sequel made me excited to go back and read the first one.

Jumping in the series head first

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I will start my review with the caveat that I did not listen/read book 1 in this series. That being said, I didn't feel lost at all. I was able to enjoy the story and really quite enjoyed it. Dan Stone is an engaging and interesting character. The story line, too, was well written and enjoyable. All in all, if you want a good action/thriller this would be a good choice.

a great book

I loved the first book in the series, Dan was like Frank Castles little brother. This one did not disappoint and had some nice little twists and turns. I'm looking forward to the 3rd installment! And I liked the new narrator as well!

I received the book in exchange for an honest review.

First book was really good, this did not let down
