In the beautiful, peaceful Ozark Mountains, a simple village lives a seemingly idyllic life, but it is far from perfect. In the midst of their struggles, an elderly shepherd arrives, leaving the distractions and stress of the city to find answers from his past. He befriends several of the kindhearted, yet proud villagers, who each carry wounds of their own. His wisdom and experience bring clarity and honesty to their secrets and hurt, while their forgiveness and love bring healing to his burdened heart.

Great story that, in an untamed back mountain context, portrays childlike faith and trust in God and the non pretentious godly character of those facing difficult internal and external adversity. Wonderful story narrated by Elisabeth (Elliot) Martin, who seemed clearly to be one with the author’s intent. Her narration captured the suspense and emotions of the events, as well as each of the many characters.

Compelling story that drew me in as I identified with and learned from the characters.
