Your wedding day should be the most unforgettable day of your life. And this is one wedding that will never be forgotten.

When a police officer’s wedding day ends in brutality and chaos, DCI Michael Yorke is pulled away from his own wedding and into the bloodiest chain of events Wiltshire has ever seen.

As a heatwave tightens its grip on Salisbury, Yorke and his team face a race against time to find the most sinister and intelligent adversary they have ever faced. Christian Severance. But as the team chase Severance into the shadows of a dark past, Yorke’s own history starts to drag itself into the present.

Can they stop Christian Severance before he achieves the unthinkable? And will Yorke survive the revelations that claw at him from the darkness?

the narrator is getting better at not reading too fast I love the plot I am still wondering what happened to the main character's sister I would like to hear more about her the author is getting better at describing the characters physically as well as personality wise I feel like the love interest was thrown in there and not developed into the story there was no warning in the previous book to suggest in a pending relationship between the two characters so far I really enjoy hearing about the female prostitute that keeps popping in as a secondary villain and I Joy the Native American aspects of the plot I well read this book again in a later date because you never get all the nuances of a book and the first read

where did the love interest come from

This one was really good. I didn't know what was happening, who was with whom, the background stories were all over the place by design, and bam, it all came together beautifully. What a great story and conclusion.

There are a series of interrelated mysteries to be solved. There is action and drama. The characters are clearly well-loved in previous books, but still grow and change in interesting ways. This installment stands alone, and it’s enjoyable without prior knowledge of the series. It also tells a full story without cliffhangers or innumerable loose ends.

The narrator fits the main character well and is engaging.
