Enjoyable from the first sentence.

This was such a fun and fast paced thrilling story.
I absolutely love all of the different elements that went into this stroy.
We have sci-fi vibes clashing with enhanced humans battling abominations for the sake of mankind. All to learn there's even more behind the veil. With a third fun twist that we get in the last part of the book that just makes it that much more enjoyable.
The tone is overall darker with some lighter moments mixed in with a splash of romance sprinkled in as well. This has a very nice cleaned up ending to make it a satisfying one shot but also leaves open the possibility of the story continuing down the road.
I would love to see the story continue one day if that is in the cards.

Narrated by Jessica Threet, the performance brings a lot of energy to the story—her delivery captures the intensity and emotional depth particularly well, making the protagonist’s journey feel personal and compelling. The pacing is fast and relentless, with plenty of satisfying progression moments that fans of the genre will appreciate.
The world-building introduces a post-apocalyptic landscape filled with monstrous threats and supernatural elements, all without overwhelming the listener with exposition. The central character is a determined, blade-wielding force driven by a strong sense of purpose, supported by a cast of allies and adversaries who add layers to the conflicts.
Overall, it’s an engaging listen that balances angst, badass action, and that addictive sense of leveling up and getting stronger. If you enjoy progression fantasies with a revenge undertone and solid narration, this one’s worth checking out.

Good world building

I enjoyed this futuristic post apocalyptic world. The MC is cool and she has some cool powers. The love triangle was unexpected and it took things close to romantasy levels. The plot was entertaining and unpredictable. The narration was really good too.

Exciting comic book like read!

This book starts off with action and doesn't let up. I read the whole thing in one sitting when usually it would take me a week. I just couldn't put it down.
The story is great, filled with action and romance, but Jessica really elevated it! You could feel how connected and engaged with the story she was.
I really hope this get a sequel soon!

Bad fan fiction garbage

The story was cookie cutter, the "romance" was a cringe choice between hunky boys, and the action was poorly written. Not even Jessica Threet could save this book though I'm not sure she was trying to given how her performance in this book compared to her other work
