The young Sky-born soon gets involved in something much bigger than herself and the rest of the peoples of Akkira. She now has to confront mindless matters of relentless warlords, Gods, and Goddesses who all recognize her great value. From the day she enters the Other World, she finds herself on the run from powers who do have anything but her best interest in mind.
How can one person, thrown from an enchanted environment into a world of madness, cope with the cruelty she did not know even existed? How can she turn the situation around? On a deeper level, it is not who she is that is most important, but what she does with what she has. With some divine powers and a mysterious Fifth Crystal, she must learn to face a world in which she does not belong, and perhaps, if she is lucky, she can help turn it into a better place. After all, she has the experience of what such a world could be like.
Elsewhere, what can a minstrel of this Other World, with no interest in any worldly and otherworldly matters, do with only a lute, a voice, a witty character, and a carefree attitude when the world crumbles? He doesn't understand why and how, but suddenly, he finds himself involved in all that which he despises and tried to avoid.
Twilight and Delwain, while so different in nature, must use what they think they didn't have, not only to survive in the hostile environment, but also to be crucial parts of the solution.
