During a dark period in human history, three captured princesses, reared in the palaces of China, Persia, and Poland, secretly take part in chronicling the greatest conquests of all time by Genghis Khan and his sons. Foreword Reviews calls it "breathtaking in scope, honest, and raw" and Historical Novel Society praises it as "a vivid and lush journey through the Mongol conquests of the 13th and 14th centuries".

If only our history lessons could have been presented in such a captivating format, we all would have done much better in school. However, this is a work of fiction meant for entertainment, and entertain it did. It depicts the lives of three princesses, each of whom found themselves bound to Mongol warriors and connected through writing in the same journal about their experiences during the Mongol invasions. The author's writing was simply outstanding, with descriptions that effortlessly came to life, transporting us to another time and place. The choice of narrator was spot on, and her voice was a perfect fit for the story, greatly enhancing the immersive experience.
