The newlyweds, Tim and Sarah Mann were the talk of the town and the gossip wasn't flattering. Sheriff Owen Kelly, known as The Spanking Sheriff, paid them a visit at their home to instruct the newlyweds on the proper way for a husband to discipline a wild, wayward wife. When the sheriff leaves, the bride and groom have had a revelation of domestic discipline that will shape their marriage until death they do part.
As the Sheriff returns to town, anticipation builds—he is about to meet the Mail-Order Bride he and his lifelong best friend, Ben, have been corresponding with for a year. Just as he ties his horse to the hitching post, the stagecoach carrying Heather McCue rolls to a stop before The Peaceful Inn. Eager and determined, he crosses the street and, with a quiet confidence, introduces himself as her fiancé, Ben.
But Heather has no idea—the letters she cherished were written not by one man, but two. Owen and Ben had crafted a singular identity, a shared persona through which they wooed her. Tragically, Ben succumbed to a sudden illness the night before her arrival. In his final hours, knowing he would never meet his bride, Ben urged his parents to bury him quickly and since he was certain Owen's love for his fiancé was genuine, he encouraged Owen to propose to Heather and be her groom, and he would postumately be Owen's Best Man.
From the moment their eyes met, Owen and Heather shared an undeniable, electric connection. What follows is a tale of tangled love, of promises made and kept, and of the deep, unexpected magic that binds Heather and Owen together.

The author has a long religious explanation for why spanking is ok. That might be passible, but ... then he talks about spanking to get rid of his anger. Not a good idea, in reality or fiction. IMHO.
