Trapped in the pitch-black catacombs alongside a dying young monk, Ranulf is systematically stripped of his academic defenses. To save the boy, he must face the agonizing guilt of a past he has spent decades trying to forget. He is left with a terrifying choice: willingly surrender his life's work and the core memories that define his sanity, or let another innocent die in the dark.
