From number one New York Times best-selling author Lauren Blakely comes a sexy, emotional, and deliciously addictive trilogy performed with all new narration from Joe Arden and Vanessa Edwin....

Let me tell you everything I know about love....

Love is a lie, a game, a chase. And most of all - it’s a battle every man and woman must fight for themselves.

I don’t trust love for a second.

Until I meet Trey.

He’s just like me - dangerous, scarred, and keeping secrets that might be darker than mine.

And I can’t seem to stay away from him even though I’ve promised to.

How can this be the start of something when tomorrow it has to end?

The Start of Us is the first novel in the No Regrets Trilogy.

Love the story! It has lots of unexpected twist and turns. The narrators’ voices are amazing.

Cliffhanger Ending

The story line is not one I expected from this author, and it was a surprisingly good beginning to the series.
The full cast of narrators for this book includes Erin Mallon, Teddy Hamilton, Vanessa Edwin, and Joe Arden - all of which are super talented and work well together.

Not Typical of this author

Doesn’t even end on a cliffhanger. Should be labeled Part one of a duet or trilogy.

Only part 1

It began with a red ribbon tattoo which led to one night of kissing. They had an instant connection, yet barely know each other.

The Start of Us is about two characters who struggle with sex addiction. As sex addicts there are rules. Rules state no dating, no sex, and no intimacy for one year. The best they can do is friendship. When the secrets hold them hostage it’s difficult to move forward. What they end up with is an instant push n’ pull forbidden relationship.

I’m realizing not all books warrant a second visit. Most books are chosen for a reason. They come into your life for reason. When I first read this book back in 2013, it mattered and was significant to my reading journey. I’m not in the same headspace that I was back then. I’m not getting the same vibe I did. It is like rediscovering this book for the first time. What I seem to remember isn’t hitting that place that once mattered.

I felt like Harley’s reason for joining the group was a hard sell. I wasn’t convinced her vices were a problem. Her problem seemed to be with the person manipulating her to write her story. Harley used excuses and evasiveness as a reason for her choices.

Lauren Blakely Is a hit and a miss with me. This one being a miss. Although, the best scenes were when they were int8mate with each other. You could feel the intense heat.

The Start of Us is book 1 in the No Regrets Trilogy. All three books are about Trey and Harley. Unfortunately, I’m not tempted to read The Thrill of It. I’ll leave well enough alone and end my journey here.

Narrators:
Joe Arden
Erin Mallon is the voice of the memoirs
Vanessa Edwin
Teddy Hamilton
I listened using the audible app listening at 2x the speed.
I came for the narrators not the author. These four narrators are top performers. Sadly, I wasn’t invested in the writing as I was in the voice acting skills of each of these four narrators. They truly saved this story with there great voice acting skills.

Saved by good performers
