Steamy and romantic

I love Cressida McLaughlin and have read many of her books. I wasn’t prepared for the steaminess of this one. I often listen to my audiobooks on speaker while I’m cooking cleaning, etc. I had to turn the volume down on this one to shield my family from the drool-worthy descriptions of Jake! Not super complex but a very cute romance, with characters who are overcomers.

Loved it

Beautifully read and what a wonderful storyline. I felt like I was invested in the characters from the very beginning.

so disappointed

I read the Canal Boat by this author and liked it. It had interesting characters with a lot of character development and was clean. The Staycation on the other hand drops the F bomb frequently. It says things like, "it was so F---- romantic", which is not romantic to me at all. Also, there are only two characters the man and the woman and they say such cheesy things that I found myself rolling my eyes. I could not finish this book.
