The Storms of Kerala

Four friends join a Christian Disaster Relief (CDR) team in 2005 and travel to Kerala, Southern India. They plan to help rebuild an orphanage after the 2004 tsunami left a path of destruction and death. The leader of the American team, Joshua Taylor, carries grief and guilt from a previous trip to India. His determination to redeem himself on this trip generates harsh mannerisms that hinder his relationship with some of the team. Especially Cassie Foreman. She’s not impressed. And he’s not exactly thrilled to discover her phobias as the trip progresses. Why did she even come to India? While Josh works on leaving the past behind, Cassie works on combating her fears. Meanwhile, their work keeps getting delayed. Who would ransack the orphanages and threaten to kidnap orphans? Is it the Hindus or is it someone else? Will the orphans get a new place to live? Will the CDR team make it through the six-week trip safely?
