I thought the character development from an angry and struggling vet to the man able to show great care for an unlikely friend really keeps you invested and rooting for his success. I like the variety of story, with some drama, sci-fi space travel, survival, etc., as well as the twists the story goes through.

It was great meeting the author last year at the Bangor comicon I’m happy his book is on Audible because I didn’t want to open up and read through the book since it is autographed. I’m curious if the story is going to continue into a series with the same two characters because if it does, I’ll be reading it. Great story lots of details and intriguing would love to see where the rest of his books go.

Great book. Definitely improves my opinion of Indie Sci-fi. Don't skip if you like military sub-genre. And, I thought it was more realistic FPP than the Halo series, if you like tragedies.
I'm glad I listened to the audiobook. Clearly Dawson is invested in a great narrator for his debut novel.

Great Addition to Indie Sci-fi
