The serenity of Hill Top Farm is shattered when a local shepherd is murdered. Beatrix, when she's not busy making friends with her fellow villagers, lends her insights to the investigation.

Nationally best-selling author Susan Wittig Albert cleverly blends fact and fiction in this cozy mystery starring iconic author Beatrix Potter.

I love the series. The narrator does an excellent job. Fantastic dialect, right amount of pauses. A delightful mixture of author and story teller.

This takes you back to a time.

I got this audiobook thinking it was a China Bayles mystery and was disappointed at first when I found out otherwise. But I ended up really enjoying this story -- the story is engaging and well written and imaginative. Give it a try! It will make you smile.

A pleasant surprise!

This audio version of the book perfectly captures the essence of the book and allows it to vividly come to life. Very well done.

Ms. Albert spins an exciting story that can be enjoyed by both adults and children, even at the same time...(if you are parent & children on a car trip.) Captive audience!

Another grand historical romp through the Land Between the Lakes!

This book makes a nice change of pace between more intense content books. When I read the first one in the series, I went and read a bio of Beatrix Potter and found it interesting. This is the second book and I found it delightful. Part of the story is of Potter's daily routine at her farm, the other is the animal stories told in the style of Potter. One feels good after reading this book.
