Anty Boisjoly is back to fill the gap that overlaps between Ruth Rendell and P. G. Wodehouse, and where Jerome K. Jerome meets Dorothy L. Sayers.

The Tale of the Tenpenny Tontine is another mystifying manor-house stumper for Wodehousian bon-vivant and problem-solver Anty Boisjoly, when his clubmate asks him to determine who died first after a duel is fought in a locked room. The untold riches of the Tenpenny Tontine are in the balance, but the stakes only get higher when Anty determines that, duel or not, this was a case of murder.

I think each book gets better. I don’t know how PJ does it, because the first was excellent. I read the books before they were available on Audible. They were so much fun that I didn’t hesitate to get the Audible as well. Excellent narration, too.

More fun with Anty and Vickers!

These books are so delightful! The writing is hilariously witty, and the performance is excellent. The endings are a little convoluted, but that doesn't really matter. The stories are sweetly wrapped up, and the journey is so worthwhile!

So much fun!

This book is well written and very funny. I enjoyed the off-beat character of the investigator and the mysteries of the murders kept me guessing. Recommended! Will look for more from the series.

Clever, entertaining British murder mystery

Witty, clever, and fun. The narration is excellent as well. Hope this is a nice, long series.

Thrilled to bits with the characters, story and narration. So witty sometimes, I laugh aloud. Then think, 'It's a murder.' Then remind myself, it is a story! Fabulous capture of the whole language, and feel of London at the time of the gentleman runabout; one imagines. Thank you P.J. for creating a character P.G. Wodehouse would attempt to sue you over. But, not before shaking your hand in salute of the genuine glory of its originality yet leaning, quite close, brilliance. Do go start at Book 1. Know and love this super fun series.

J' Adore!
