In this explosive fourth installment of The Thugtress of Harlem, Lady reigns supreme over the DuPont crime family after the death of Drac. Firm in her newfound position, she controls the family with an iron fist.

Confined to federal lockup, fighting unbeatable charges, Big Bear’s infuriated when learning that mostly everyone has flipped on him. Tension rises behind bars, and he strikes a powerful Harlem figure. This move brings forth chaos in the streets, causing many to flip on the DuPont’s for his actions.

With Harlem turning on the DuPont’s, and even their own soldiers flipping, Lady finds herself vulnerable and on the brink of collapse. As a federal investigation looms, a major betrayal within the family leaves her completely exposed. Faced with insurmountable odds, Lady decides to put her son first and leave the game for good—but walking away might be harder than she thinks.

I’m all for a strong female lead — but The Thugtress from Harlem missed the mark. The main character was supposed to be powerful and commanding, yet she never quite embodied true strength or growth. While her journey was stretched across five books, the story felt flat and repetitive. Her development into a “leader” came off more forced than earned, leaving little emotional impact. I really tried to like this series, but it lacked depth, direction, and the spark that makes a character unforgettable. In the end, it was a lackluster ride that failed to live up to its potential.
