At the age of seventeen, Kyleigh Shepherd is having an interesting year. After living in a large city for most of her childhood, her family’s move to a small coastal town is a big change. So far it’s been okay. She loves the beach, and with the warmer season of summer ahead, she is happy to have a break from school and spend her days working at the shop her family owns.

Kyleigh’s sister, Erin, is more anxious to return to Seattle for her third year of college, but her summer job at a candy store is pleasant and makes the separation from her boyfriend more bearable.
