It was a blessing to learn so much from the Psalms by Spurgeon the Prince of Preachers. I am eager to listen to the next four volumes and begin all over at volume I after that.

Spurgeon’s astounding volumes on the Psalms are so full of knowledge and insight that it is truly hard for the reader to grasp it upon merely listening without intense concentration. That is not easy for a work that is almost 50 hours in one Volume. And there are 6. There are no words for the gifts of Spurgeon in his writing and breadth of knowledge. One could listen again and again and still learn more and more still.

My only issue with the narrator, and it is not his fault. Bob Souer is an incredible narrator in his own right. This is a rather technical work to say the least, and it is easy to be rather monotone. But the fault lies in me the listener for drifting. His tone is fine as is his inflection. It’s in knowing what speed and how to listen to not drift that the reader must figure out. And I’m still working on that one because I’ve had this problem when listening to him narrate other works. Astounding truly.
