A better approach to investing

This is not a typical investment book. It is an experiential guide on cultivating the mindset and behavior necessary to weather inherently uncertain and unpredictable markets. It doesn’t just tell you how to invest but how to think better about investing. Referencing studies on psychology, decision making, and investment behavior, Jennings provides a no-nonsense analysis of the financial markets and a road map to navigating its inevitable twists and turns.

Jennings uses mental models to create a latticework of wisdom that will help you evaluate investment advice and learn better behavior in the face of uncertainty. To name a few: ignore expert predictions, be wary of stories, and try to invest like a dead person.

An engaging dive into investing psychology and best practices, The Uncertainty Solution is an authoritative, accessible guide for both lay investors and professionals inundated with financial news and data. Listen to this book to improve your thinking about investing, practice better investment behavior, and ultimately, have more money.

Great read on mental models and investing behavior. Highly recommend reading this book if you’re interested in both.

This is one of the better finance books I’ve listened to/read. I’ve read most of the big ones. I think this one adds more to the conversation then most of the others and is a good reminder on how to handle your portfolio.

Excellent stuff

Loved how it incorporated prior investment books like Swedroe, Swenson, Munger, Bogle, etc. the author is very well read and pulls from different disciplines. I’ve lived a lot of these lessons over my nearly twenty year investment career (since selling a biz at an early age) and this book puts it all much better than I can explain it. A worthwhile read… as the author puts it, well worth the seven hours of an audible. My one question remains, what happens as more people use index funds? I heard recently there are more passive than active funds. What happens when the whole world adopts the passive strategy - will we once again see a reversion to the mean, or worse? Thank you

A great synthesis of prior great reads. Updated and relevant!

In my opinion, this is the modern version of the book (The Intelligent Investor). Very understandable for simple minded people.

I have listened to this book over and over, and the content is mind blowing and so practical. It is a gold mine for individual long term investors. Every investor should read it, highly recommend. I am surprised it is a book written in 2023 as I feel like this is a old wisdom book lasting the past 100 years+

Incredibly good for individual investors, like a bible
