The Omega variant hits the world, and it's different. Those it kills don't stay dead. When the dead rise they have one aim and that is to kill the uninfected to spread the plague. But there is something ominous behind the variant, it has been designed, it has a purpose.

The survivors have formed a colony on a shipping freighter anchored in the middle of the bay. Carl persuades his group to try to rescue The Scientist, who may have a cure for the outbreak. New characters emerge to aid and to attack the group. The Elites are causing trouble and there's even a wannabe emperor arriving on the scene.

Meanwhile the dead are beginning to act strangely.
