For Clementine Haas, finding herself is more than a nice idea. Ever since she woke up in an Irish hospital with complete amnesia, self-discovery has become her mission.

They tell her she's the lone survivor of a plane crash. They tell her she's lucky to be alive. But she doesn't feel lucky. She feels...lost.

With the relentless Irish press bearing down on her, and a father she may not even recognize on his way from America to take her home, Clementine assumes a new identity and enlists a blue-eyed Irish stranger, Kieran O'Connell, to help her escape her forgotten life...and start a new one.

Hiding out in the sleepy town of Waterville, Ireland, Clementine discovers there's an upside to a life that's fallen apart. But as her lies grow, so does her affection for Kieran, and the truth about her identity becomes harder and harder to reveal, forcing Clementine to decide: Can she leave her past behind for a new love she'll never forget?

A young American woman is the sole survivor of a small airplane crash that leaves her in an Irish hospital. Clementine is desperate to find out who she is and whom she would like to become. She goes out to find herself amongst the people of Ireland.

I loved this book for its characters and how Clementine affects their lives and they affect her life. Her complete fear of being not enough for her family or those around her makes her into someone that gives of herself unconditionally. If you are going to find yourself, doing it in the beautiful countryside of Ireland is the perfect place. There is magic alive and well in the people.

The narrator sometimes makes me crazy as I have heard her many times before, but this was excellent. Her halting and often flat reading was perfect for someone that doesn't know what to think. In fairness, the narrator isn't flat all the time and nor is she a poor narrator. It is just my personal preference and this story was a perfect fit for her.

An excellent winter read.

It's not a terrible story, just too much angst for me. Young Adult audience will probably like it. Main character made some very childish decisions which I suppose is to be expected from an 18 year old. At the same time though, you see the characters aware of the lessons they're learning... I turned it off once the twist I saw coming was confirmed.

Too angsty for me
