He is Layel, king of the vampires, a master seducer no woman can deny. But since a rogue horde of dragons killed his beloved over two centuries ago, Layel has existed only for vengeance...until he meets Delilah.

Wary of love, the beautiful Amazon wants nothing to do with the tormented vampire. Yet there's no denying their consuming desire every time he nears her.

Neither trusts the other - nor can they survive alone. For in an impossible game of the gods' devising, they've been trapped on an island, about to face the ultimate challenge: surrender to the passion that will bind them forever...or be doomed to an eternity apart.

The main characters in this book all have depth and the story was interesting. The story line reminded me of the TV show "Survivor" in some respects. Layel is a hot, haunted character that truely loved his fomer wife and struggles with his feelings for Delilah. I really enjoyed their story. There are also some side romances that were interesting. I thought the book had a lot of good plots and sub-plots. The narrator - Sanannah Richards - is very good.

Interesting Book

Both exciting and romantic, can't ask for more, thanks Showalter.

Where does The Vampire's Bride rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Probably near the middle which doesn't mean much cause I don't read many books I don't like.

Would you be willing to try another book from Gena Showalter? Why or why not?

Yes. I don't hate her books, but I am not to where I just couldn't live without her either.

Which scene was your favorite?

Any scene where she is not discussing how inadvertently smitten the two are without wanting to admit it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really. This book is more of a guilty pleasure. There is nothing particularly inspirational about it.

Any additional comments?

The story line is not a bad one. The only reason that this book doesn't get better reviews is because the author felt the need to drone incessantly about the attraction between the two and how neither, especially the vampire, are willing to admit it. If is hand't been for that then the story line would have been a good one. I just feel that there is so much more that Showalter could have done with the story, given that she didn't dwell on the two longing for each other and denying one another.

Get on with it already.
