***** “It’s the perfect blend of sultry romance, supernatural intrigue, and smart storytelling—set against the dreamy, spooky backdrop of a gothic mansion in Salem.

***** “This story hooked me quietly and didn’t let go.”

***** “…And then there’s Adrian. A sexy, French vampire with a penchant for dirty talk and charm that oozes off the page. Their chemistry is delicious.”

A haunted manor. A deadly secret. A vampire who should be her enemy.

Charlotte Marlowe has spent her career fighting the guilty. She’s not afraid of the darkness—until she inherits Blackthorn Manor.

Hidden within its walls are more than just ghosts. A seductive yet cursed vampire with centuries of secrets. A power in her blood she never knew existed. And horrifying entities contained beneath the manor that are… waiting and wanting.
Now, Charlotte must navigate a dangerous new world where witches, vampires, ghosts and ancient magic collide. But the greatest danger of all? The undeniable pull toward Adrian de Lanier, the vampire who might be her only ally… or her greatest threat.

Some legacies are written in blood. Some love stories are destined to end in darkness. And some secrets should never be uncovered…

[There is a cliffhanger at the end of the spicy book, leading to Book 2. This is a 4 book series. Main tropes are strangers to lovers, forced proximity, good vs evil, vampire lore, witch lore. If you loved Dark Shadows, A Discovery of Witches and Twilight, you'll love this.]

The storyline wasn't horrible, but did feel rushed. However, having it read by Whisper Voice made it comical. The more intimate scenes lacked the intensity of the acts I feel the author was trying to convey. Instead, the automated reading caused the wrong types of punctuation, inflection, type of excitement... I did get a good laugh though.

A manor, that needs to have someone to take care of it and keep secrets at bay. To have ghosts and vampires in this story along with witches, it is an amazing story so far. Wander who Charlet can trust. Finding out about the past and how things have become. I cannot wait to get to the next book.

Vampires and witches

DNF this book. I couldn’t listen to the AI voice mispronounce words. The story was lacking as well.

AI narrator was awful

I still have not completed the whole book yet. But I wanted to come on here to write ahead of time. The story itself is mystical and enchanting. I just wish they wouldn’t have used a computer to narrate.

If they were to get a real voice actor for this novel, it would be 10 out of 10 stars.

Enchanting & dark

Virtual voice is AWFUL. can’t tell the difference between characters there’s no voice change. So monotone no acting.
Really detracts from the actual story it’s so monotone there’s chunks my mind tunes out and I’m like what just happened?

Awful narration.
