Cathy and Anne visit Cathy's grandmother's inn. Unbeknownst to them, there is an inhabitant and she's not that excited to be sharing her space. Julie is Miranda's (Cathy's grandma) bestie, but Cathy has only seen her in pictures she received with Miranda's legal papers. No mention of her over the years. Suspicious, isn't it? Anne thinks she's a squatter, ready to oust the elderly woman on sight. But Cathy will honor her grandmother's wish that Julie always have a place at The Vineyard Inn if she so desires. A tall order to fill with someone who is deliberately unpleasant. Talking things over with Thomas, the hot Brit she met on the beach, gives her a little clarity. And an urge to flirt that she hasn't had in a while. She's gonna reopen the inn and make a new life for herself, maybe get herself into a new relationship. A lovely novella with great characters and a realistic storyline. I like the continuity of the story but wish the stories were a bit longer. The AI narrator was okay.
