Scary, sad and not much actual romance

I enjoyed listening to this story. I didn't really understand the sickness and healing even if he was a snake. Did he become a shape shifter or a host to it? Interesting.

The Warden is back

I have not thoroughly enjoyed a book from this particular series. The Viper changed that. Even though it was not really a romance, it was exciting and had you on the edge. I love the way she brought in BDB (would love to know what the other brothers are up to and not just V) whatever. This was a great ending and looking forward to what is to come.

More violence than usual

I love anything JRW. Her powers of description surpass any author I’ve read. I dislike having to say I didn’t care for this storyline however it did have its merit and feel sure we will see some of these characters again in future installments. Felt there was way too much violence in this story, much more than usual.

It's all about the love

Even though this book has to get a 4 from me, JR Ward just never disappoints with her wisdom and the quality of love--and she just keeps spreading it around, out toward all of us reading. It's the "found family," the love and respect among them all that is just so reassuring to witness.

And Jim Frangione continues to floor me with how well he nails the emotional parts, from high drama/action, to the most vulnerable pain or intimacy. BOTH male and female--it doesn't matter. He nails it all.
Amazing.
