Abducted from Earth as a child. Sold into slavery. Forced to fly the ship of a ruthless pirate. Sarah knows nothing of her homeworld or her people. Her one longing is to return home.

Little does she know humanity is no better off. The Elders, a ruthless alien race, rule Earth with an iron grip.

When Sarah’s ship is ambushed by an Elder frigate she is thrown into a life and death battle. Survival would send shockwaves throughout the galaxy. Never before has an Elder warship been beaten in one-on-one combat. For Sarah, it would also open up a way for her to return to the home she has never known.

The Voyage Home tells the story of one young woman’s quest to find her home world and confront a galactic superpower.

It took me a bit to get used to the writing style, having just finished a long series of books by another author. I soon found I just wanted to keep listening well into the night, as the story unfolded. Thanks for an enjoyable experience.

When finishing a book, it’s nice to have Audible present the next books in the series, but, if not published yet, an expected date of the next book’s release would be very helpful.

First off, if you allow for the writing style to be YA, the overly simplified characters are tolerable.
The basic plot arc isn't bad, lots of potential, and a decent tale to tell.
Oh God is the pseudo-science and battle stuff terrible.

Example: "...so they chose a very low and slow orbit." --- c'mon. Understanding how orbits work isn't science fiction. We pretty much know that stuff already and this isn't it. Understanding something as basic as that should be required before writing about spaceships and space battles. The battles had people sensing and dodging lasers. If you need help understanding why that's a problem, this book won't bother you. If you don't care, this book won't bother you. If you do understand and stuff like that bugs you -- find something else.

Great plot. Juvenile characters, bad science

The story starts off dramatic - child suffers trauma, then sold into slavery, the author pulls me in by the plot. But, that's where it ends. The main characters annoy me just a bit, some of the characters are unbelievable. I will try to get through the rest of this book, but the main turn off is with the audio. I am always hearing "she said, he said, Sarah said" after EVERY sentence it ends like that, its a bit annoying and ruins the flow of the book. Advice to the author: Trust your audience is intelligent enough to make the distinction between which character is speaking. You do not always need to point it out every time.
