“When I was a boy, my pa dowsed to earn extra money when we had a lean year. And when he put the branch in my hands for the first time, I felt a burning inside me because I had the gift, too. Just be thankful I didn’t hand that gift down to you.”

Amos figured it was probably best not to tell his father that it was too late.

What would you do if you knew you had a special gift—a sixth sense—that was passed down from one generation to the next? A gift that could help people in times of need, but one your father often saw as a trap. Would you use that gift?

This is the story of Amos Kincaid, the dowser’s son.

This book is my kind! I loved the story and the narrator was absolutely GREAT! I am a picky reader and get bored quickly. I hated to see this book end. Thankyou to the narrator and his wonderful voice.

A Little House on the Prairie warmth accompanies the incomparable Will Patton as he brings these characters to life. As enjoyable as a peaceful evening on the front porch after a hectic day of busyness.

A wholesome coming of age story set in the early West

Ms. Holt has a winner with this one! I've not called a book beautiful before, but that word fits this story. It's a beautiful blend of human character study, laugh-out-loud humor, grim life in pre-civil war America, and just a great idea! It's also a good reminder that all western life was not blazing guns, and Indian fighting. Wonderful!

A WONDERFUL SURPRISE

Really enjoyed this book, the characters were great and the story sure was too. Loved that this book was so much more than the description implied.

Will Patton at his best!
