Needs timespan context

I like this series so far, but it is seriously lacking in letting the audience know how much time as passed since book 1, at the beginning of book 2, and how much time is lapsing throughout book 2. At the end of this book (book 2) Lisa talks as if the whole pack has been on the run for years, which isn't indicated anywhere else in this book.....
......After listening to book 3, everything that has happened in book 1 & book 2 happened all within about 8 months.
