New York Times best-selling author Carla Neggers skillfully crafts emotional tales of suspense.

Years ago, on her honeymoon in Maine, Abigail Browning's FBI agent husband Chris was killed. Immersing herself in her own police work, Abigail tried moving on, but she remained haunted by unanswered questions. Seven years later, on their anniversary she receives a phone call that suggests his murder wasn't a random act of violence, but a hit perpetrated by a serial killer.

The book was not super amazing, I would have thought better but it was alright. Production and narrator stunk!

The recording was fast/slow/narrator stunk!

Between the sophomoric writing, the breathy, “sexy” dialog of protag at times, the obnoxious fellow detectives to the present/past technique on EVERY OTHER SENTENCE at the beginning, it didnt’t take long to pass on this. Example of writing: She had just been bashed on the head, her husband LEAVES her at hospital, he was gone for quite a while but that’s ok, “she didn’t have a feeling of anything bad going to happen” She’d just been assaulted, in their home!! Also “I love you, Abigail”, she wanted to go back in time to tell him, Don’t, don’t love me, go live your life” since she couldn’t she took a drink of her wine.... . Gag!
It was hard to keep up with are we present, long ago past or recent past. It felt like she took a bunch of sentences, tossed them up then just pasted together.

Good lord this is BAD
